Ashley + Leo are getting married on November 26th, 2011. They met while Leo was bartending at Morton's downtown so we shot a few there and then wandered around the riverwalk to the gratto near the light up fish where Leo proposed to Ashley some months ago! Julie + Cameron met in college and he lives in Philly where they have kept a long distance relationship for 5 years. Cameron surprised Julie one day this past May by flying in to San Antonio and proposed to her at her parent's house while a family member secretly videotaped the whole thing! Congrats guys and I can't wait for the wedding!

Boot Scootin'

Leon Springs Elementary PTA is hard at work to make their school the best they can be! Boot Scootin' is an awesome fund raiser held at Leon Springs Dance Hall. This year the PTA is supporting enrichment programs, staff appreciation, school-family communication efforts, and field trips. They will be adding funds for advanced technology for the teachers, students, and staff. They will also continue a school renovation project that will include improving and maintaining the school grounds.

Crystal's Harley

Crystal bought a Harley and named her "Silver". I drove up to Kerrville for the day and we took some photos around town. It was a very hot day and we forgot to take water with us so after the shoot we were more than happy to sit down for some cold drinks and good food at Mamacitas Restaurant!

A photographer friend of mine, Lauren Angell, just so happened to be staying in Port Aransas,TX the same weekend I went with my family on vacation. She had some beach portraits so I helped her with those on Saturday. The beach where she was at, however was smelly and full of oil and tar from the devastating oil spill. Luckily just 15 minutes away where I was staying it was fine despite the massive amount of seaweed that washed up. So after her shoot we raced back to my turf to "play" with lighting on my muse and willing subject, my sister! We didn't have much time before the sun set but we got a few shots at sunset and at twilight.

EWI Scholarship Winners

EWI (Executive Women's International) awarded 6 bright women with scholarships to the school of their choice. Videographer and high school teacher, Matt Saucier, interviewed them for a video at the Port of San Antonio. They needed some stills so I happily agreed to donate my services. The video and stills were to be shown at the awards ceremony. I think they just needed a head shot but I went ahead and did some inside too. I only had a few minutes with each person but I think they turned out great! Way to go girls!

A Photo Essay

Back in February '09 when I interviewed with Marcus Revilla to be an associate photographer for La Vie Studio, part of the process was to submit a photo essay that was not wedding related and I had 1 day to do it. A photo essay typically consists of 10 photos and tells a story without words. It's not about throwing together the best images, but rather 10 images that best tell the story. I never received feedback on my essay but I got the job. Here was my essay

I'm taking a metalsmithing class for making jewelry at the Southwest School of Art & Craft. I carved a ring from wax, cast it and the photos are of me melting the silver to make the ring. Final product still to come!

My Ugly Mosaic

I decided I wanted to make a mosaic candle holder yesterday. I thought I bought brown grout but apparently it is charcoal. My first project didn't turn out that great. I'm sure it would have looked nicer with brown grout. It looks cool lit up though. I don't think this is the end in mosaic-candle-holders for me. It can only get better right? Still, I am fond of my ugly candle holder.

My aunt and uncle have purchased a wind tunnel! You don't have to jump out of a plane to fly like they do! I would never go sky diving...but I'll do this for sure! Can't wait!
